Progetto E-Changes (Effects of climate change on Apennines grassland ecosystems)
Il Progetto E-Changes (Effects of climate change on Apennines grassland ecosystems) è un'area progettuale volta a valutare gli effetti di eventi climatici estremi sulle praterie dell'Appennino centrale. Nei versanti della Riserva Naturale Statale "Montagna di Torricchio", i ricercatori hanno simulato eventi di aridità estrema e precipitazioni aggiuntive al fine di valutare la risposta della biodiversità in termini di produttività (biomassa), funzionalità (plant functional traits) e composizione specifica a scala fine. E-Changes si collega al progetto internazionale BODIVERSA "SIGNAL" il cui sito sperimentale italiano è stato allestito in loc. Tuseggia, presso l'"Arboretum Apenninicum" dell'Università di Camerino, e al progetto UNICAM-FAR "Climapp" con la sperimentazione nell'area a gestione orientata dei prati falciabili presso il Casale Piscini.
The E-Changes Project is an area project aimed at evaluating the effects of extreme weather events on the grasslands of the central Apennines. In two contrasting sites (north-and south-facing slopes) of the "Montagna di Torricchio" State Natural Reserve, the researchers simulated extreme drought and additional rainfall in order to assess the biodiversity response in terms of productivity (biomass), functionality (plant functional traits) and specific scale composition. E-Changes is connected to the international project BODIVERSA "SIGNAL" whose Italian experimental site has been set up in “Tuseggia” locality, at the "Arboretum Apenninicum" of the University of Camerino, and the project UNICAM-FAR "Climapp" with the experimentation in the oriented management area dedicated to mowing lawns close to the hamlet called “Casale Piscini”.
